light rain in suzhou

It been almost a week for me in suzhou. Had visited quite a few places in suzhou. Walking around pretty much that my feets were so tired. Yesterday was a public holiday in china, if i am not wrong, it should be the dumpling festival. 

This place is like Kaoxiong, quiet and peaceful, except the residents here travel on battery-run bicycle instead of motorcycles. Btw, i am living in the Industrial Area of Suzhou and will need to take Bus 146 to the Ancient Town of Suzhou which is the city area. Traveling there is pretty okay and it costs 1RMB (~S$0.20) for the ride. But coming back can be very, VERY packed with people. Thats why the day before my sis and I decided to walk back home, which took us about 40mins. Abit crazy right!!! Hee Hee. 

One thing I realized about Suzhou is that it is really a water-city, with bridges connecting everywhere. One can see small boats in the river touring people around to see the places. The boatman/woman sometimes sing their local country songs while rowing the boat. It is a beautiful scene.

It is a new korean tv series that is going to be showed in sg soon. It is very digital and graphic. The story line is nice throughout but just dont like the ending. Like the chinese song, so decide to introduce here...

Series of mix feelings for the past few weeks

Many things had happened. Seeing the ups and downs of man. The life of man become so fragile. It helps me to evaluate into alot of things. Live for what you have been given and treasures what you have. Also learn to walk out of unhappy things and not to dwell on them. The perspective of life will be better and wider if one have taken a step back.

Today, I opened a letter on my sister behalf since she is not in singapore. I like what is written on the bookmark. It stated that "Acknowledging our weakness and accepting our limitations as loving reminders to enter into Christ's strength." I realised this is really true. I had gotten a few setback on my thesis writing for the past two weeks. And it is in those times, I really must say I need Christ's strength more than anything. Also those setback are painful and hard for me to digest. But though His strength, I will preserve on. And through that, I will be able to pray for those who also need Him.

At the same time, I would like to be thankful for the setbacks that I had faced. Through that, I would be able to improve and also make things for the better. I also realised that there is no ending to learning. The decisions we make everyday from the moment we wake up on what to eat, what to wear, what time to leave house for work and so on... will come with a result. It is from those things we learn.

I know I have become a little emotional these days. But just like to write on how I feel and hope that it will give strength to those who read it. At the same time, be reminded that you are not the only one who might have been undergo alot of pressure in life.

My feeling today...

As I saw the big blue sky in front of me today, I realised I havent been relaxing my brain for the past few months. Having alot of dreams and didnt have good rest in my sleep. Feeling pretty tired sometime. I think i need a break to go to the nature or even to the beach. I will plan for one soon. Well, why havent I been relaxing myself. I think I mind too much how a person think or look at me or even how I speak. Many at times, I choose not to speak because I am afraid I might speak wrongly. But I think of it today. I shouldnt behave this way. I should try to be myself and speak of wat I think and I feel. Friends if next time u see or meet me. Do remind me of this. Hee hee. I hope I will practice wat I said. If I did speak anything not nice, pls pardon me. :)
Btw, I went for a shopping trip with my mum today. Actually, my mum had wanted to go shopping with me since my return. Hope she enjoy the trip today coz I did enjoyed mine. Ha ha. Bought a dress.

Happy Chinese New Year.

Today is the day where my whole family is back in Singapore for CNY. Took some pictures but havent upload coz its my sis's camera. Have a normal reunion dinner and it is cooked by my mum as usual. Afterwhich, my sis and I decided to make some pineapple tarts for ourselves. It might not be the best tarts but it is fun and nice to do together. Jia, hope next year we can do together again. HApPy ChiNeSe NeW YeAR to my family, relatives and friends.

Finally got my new alarm clock

These days... electronic stuffs had been dying on me. When I came back, my digital camera dont function. Actually, before I left for taiwan, my mp3 player and digital clock died too. Been looking for one new cheap, portable and good function clock for very long. Finally, got one yesterday while shopping in cineleisure. It is a four face clock. Wonder what it means. Okay... it is a clock that hv four functions... by turning the clock each time you can go into different functions. The four functions are clock itself, timer, alarm and temp. What more it shows two different colours. It costs $10. It is a nicely design product.

JouRnEy to SuNTeC

These pictures were taken weeks ago. On my way to Suntec, there was heavy traffic jam so took out my hp to take pictures of Singapore. Really like Singapore though it is a really small country and pretty crowded when you walk ard or travel ard. As the bus traveled up the highway, I saw the almost completed ferry wheels and it reminded me of the time I took the ferry wheels in Dream Mall and Jian Hu Shan. It was really a nice memory. So my friends, maybe we can go when this one is opened. Hee hee.

Catch Johnny Depp's New Movie

Today, went to watch movie, Sweeney Tobb with my friend, who is back from Australia. Johnny Depp is my favourite actor, likes him since Edward Scissorshand. And hv try to catch most of the films he acted in. This current new movie is abit bloody and the ending I dont really quite like it. But still I like the movie, it is like a musical play. It is nice to hear them sing song and using songs to portay the feelings and the whole atomsphere of the movie. Think this is the second time I watched movie like a musical play. If you guys dont like a movie presents this way, my advice is u might forgo it.

How i feel today...

Coming to the end of Jan 2008. So fast one month is gone. Initially wanted to do a blog on sat or sun. But too busy with things. Hee hee. Last sun was a big event for my secondary friend Boon hui and his newly married wife Li chan. It is so nice that their relationship has began another new journery. So happy for them. Congrats and love each other all the more.

Before the wedding dinner at Rasa sentosa, I also met up with my poly friz. I saw my good friz, Corrine and her baby finally. Last year, she was still in the mother's womb and this year she is already 9 months old. She is such a smilely and cute baby. It is really God's gift. Corrine and Rayson must take good care of Amaris. Beside this, I also realised alot of my other gal friz are getting married. Think next in the line will be Valerine which is end of this year. Perhaps, Magenta is also on the way, since she n her bf are getting a new flat. It is so great to see my friends find their happiness. Hope one day I will also find mine. Hee hee. Now I got to save up so as to prepare a "big" red Ang Bao. Haha.


29/1 I went out with Ash to the Central today. She intended to buy something but yet cant find any. But on the way back on, we chat quite abit. Her new house planning, family n ... Lots and Lots more. It kept me to know that every family are different. There is nothing to compare. I also think I am blessed to be in a family of five; Dad, Mum, Sis, Bro and Myself.

After coming back from Taiwan, I realised I had grown to be independent. Also now getting use to the new lab I am doing my FYP project. To be frank, I really dont adapt well in a new environment. But one phrase comes to my mind, 改变环境会人成长。 So let me continue to grow both in characters and emotions. Let me know myself well enough before I make plans for my future.

以上那段文章是我最喜欢的作家-张小娴写的一篇散文，也是她众多作品中我最有印象的一个。我一向很执着于男人的身高，喜欢的男生都不矮。

Obtained the above paragraph from Jia. I agree with her. In fact, a guy's height is the first thing that attracted me to look at. Next, make a guess wat I will see. Will let you guys know on my next blog. But I believe many of my friz will know wat I look at next.

Mon (14/1): First person I met was my one of my poly good friz, Annabella. We met in NUS, coz currently I am attached to TLL lab which is in NUS for my FYP. She is working there so met her for lunch. Anyway, thanks to her I located TLL easily.

In evening, my good friz, Ash, dropped by my place to see me. Didnt really update much. Just passed her the gifts I bought her. Hee hee. Anyway, we planned to meet on fri again with some other friz too.

Tue (15/1): Today went back to NTU to attend the Conduct briefing. As planned earlier in taiwan, we had a small gathering after taiwan trip. Met up Ivy, Weibin and Taichong in NIE for our lunch as we missed the noodles in NIE. Hee hee. Later, we updated something that happened on Mon. It seemed as though we had not been together for quite long, which in fact, it is only one or two days only. Cannot blame us as we had been together for the past 5 months plus.

Wed and Thur: Back to lab again. I did quite a few mistakes but dont feel like mentioning it so let me just forget it and get on with it.

Friday (18/1): I met up with my good friends, Ash and Esther at Vivo City as it is easlier for me to go there after work. We had our dinner at Harbourfront food court. Had my favourite beef noodles. Although taiwan also has beef noodles, they cook it differently. Here they used thick mee hoon which I prefer more. We then went to shop around but I dont dare to see much as I realised my cupboard cant put in anymore clothes. So better control. Next, we went to sit by the bench outside. Saw the construction at sentosa for the IR thing. We chat for quite long. To be frank, it was only this time I felt more comfortable. Maybe didnt meet for quite long, so it took me a while to mix in. Haha. I am a person dont adapt well. So dont be too surprized.

Sat (19/1): I met up with other good friends, Airu, Cailing and Yiling. First, Airu and I went to eat sushi in MS, coz I missed alot. Hee hee. It is nice I had my steam egg finally. Felt so great. "Ohiishi" The other thing that I will never missed is the lobster salad sushi. Really had my fill. Cailing joined us after she and her bf went to the carreer fair in suntec. With them, we went to another Jap. restaurant in Citylink. It is a newly opened restaurant and they are selling Jap. spagetti. Afterwhich, we went back to Hg mall to buy donuts to eat. N sat in mac to wait for Yiling to join us. Had curly fries too. It was nice. The donuts were also good. Had a long chat there. Did a few IQ games and also try to plan for our trips to Australia to go for Jia's graduation in July.

Waiting for Ru to pick me up to go Ang Mo Kio Mrt station to take train. So took a few pics along the way.

Although I was not away for very long, it is really good to meet up with them to know how they are getting on. Thank you, my lovely friends.

I also like to thank my family members for their loves and support. Also my mum now especially for providing me with alot of nice food. Think I will put on weight again. I need to control after this week. Need to keep myself in good state as my graduation is this year too. Haha.

P.S.: I think I got addicted in taking pics in taiwan so keep taking pics when I go out now. Also self taking I have become prof. Haha.

Today is the forth day since my return from taiwan

Still remember the first day I reached Taipei, I was down with flu and kept thinking why did I come all the way for sufferings where I can enjoy my life in Singapore. What could be more happening is to meet with earthquake. Then one week later, we (Ivy and myself) headed down to Kaohsiung for our last semester of studies. Then came to first know a Taiwan friz called Melon, would like to thank him for helping us to find the way to the international villa, taking the keys for us and carrying our luaggages.

The most interesting thing is to get to know my two 学弟 (Bin and Chong) from SBS. Life in NSYSU and taiwan would not be complete without you guys and also my lovely and supportive, Ivy. I missed the time where we go to school together, walking up and down the hills, traveling on the school bus... I missed the time where we could have our lunch in the 老地方 in front of our school and also going to Lin Ma Ma together for dinner.

当时的不习惯， 到如今的不舍得。 但我们还是回到新加坡，开始了我们忙碌的生活。

To Bin and Chong, all the best for your studies. I believe you guys will score good results. But dont study too hard, must learn to enjoy your lives too.

To Ivy, all the best for your FYP. Too bad we are not working very near. But I believe you will mix in well. I think I am supposed to be worried for myself more. ha ha.

Lastly, thanks for the accompany for the past 5 months or so. It has been great. To the guys, thanks for helping us with the luggages and staying up late with us. To Ivy, I missed your company in the room. Nowadays, I am more consistent to put moisture before I go to bed. Haha. I think it will take a while for me to adapt back to the life in Singapore again. Hope I will do fine.

Need to go to bed alr. Tata. I will try to update more since now cannot use weibin's blog as reference alr. Hee hee. Okay. Sweet dreams to all who see this blog.

To Tainan again... we went to buy "Tu chan" n eat, eat, eat...

On the railway train to Tainan, the train is similar to singapore MRT but the seats are with cushison and this is the cheapest train we took. It costs about NT$69. There are three different types of trains running for the railway with different prices, timing and traveling speed.

Half way there, I took a photo of the sunset directly infront of me. Not a good catch of the view from inside of the train. But it is really beautiful if you see it.



What's more ahead. Behind me, I saw the dark clouds. Believe rain is on the way. It has been some time I met the rain in southern part of taiwan after the cold season has arrived around late Oct (if i am not wrong). The most interesting thing is there is a rainbow accompanied with it. It is the first time I saw such a big rainbow on the sky.

Hope you can spot it, coz it is really difficult to take. N the pic is only a corner of the rainbow. Believe this is a good signal for everyone who saw it including ME and it really good to be able to see it on Christmas eve. Hope everything ahead will be smooth sailing and in three weeks time I will be back in singapore doing my final year project.

Btw, in tainan, I spent quite abit. Bought "tu chan" which costs ~NT$520. In additional, I bought a hat for NT$100. Actually, this is cheap and nice. It is something that I hope to get for quite long and glad to find it at such a good price. N bought a couple watch for my bro and his wife to be. It is also buy at a good price. So hope that they will like it.

Okay, I need to control abit, coz will be going down to taipei on 31 dec for the countdown party. Have to reserve... although I still like to buy some clothings for myself and also gifts for friends.

Thanksgiving for this special ocassion of the year... Christmas!!!

This is the most favourite day I like in the year, since young I am blessed with gifts from my family members n relatives. It is so nice to have all the love showered on me. As years go on, I have my celebrations with alot of people... my secondary school friz, my chruchmates in navigators and most importantly with my FAMILY.

This year is going to be special. I am in taiwan celebrating this Christmas without my loves ones but with some new friends, WB and TC, maybe XYZ who is coming to taiwan for his FYP. Of course, my friend, Ivy Low, who is along with me for this international exchange program. Don't know what to expect this Christmas but believe it is going to be a Christmas which will be colder than in Singapore.

I would like to give thanks to my buddy, Ash. She prepared the pictures that we took over the last year, so that I will have a chance looking at them and also remember that good times we spent together. Yiling, my beloved friend, who did a nice knitted scarf. I haven’t really used it but did bring out. Hope I will be able to use it when I go to Taipei this New Year Countdown. Think the temperature there is lower as compare to Kaohsiung.

To Xiao Ke Ai, Ru and Little Mae Mae, Ling, thanks for providing me the cash for purchasing one of the most valuable item; that is the Concise English-Chinese and Chinese-English Dictionary for this trip. It is an important item I need and used frequently. Hee hee.

In addition, my lovely sister also gave me a pair of gloves and a jacket. I bought the gloves along but not the jacket coz my luggage overweight. The gloves provided me warm during cold weather.

The most most important thing for today is the birth of Jesus. I would like this time to thank Jesus for coming to this world to give us new lives, it is not what we done but because of His love for us, You came. Hope this wonderful news of Yours will be spread on and on the everyone on this earth.

I would like to that this chance to thank you for providing me with the blue pairs of gloves. It is so thoughtful of you (my most thoughtful friend, who always think of us and loyalty is the best word to describe YOU). This is the first gift that I received from the gang before I leave for tw. It came in handy when the weather here dropped too low.
